The Interdepartmental Research Centre on Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) for the Environment, Agroo-food and New Materials (CERMANU) of the University of Naples Federico II was officially established on 2006 (Decreto Rettorale n. 3005 del 02/08/2006), and activated November 1st, 2006 as by D.R. n. 3701 del 18.10.2006. Its statute was upgraded on 2014, following the new Statute of the University of Naples Federico II (art. 33, comma 2)

Mission

CERMANU promotes, develops and puts in practice interdisciplinary and multidiciplinary research
of relevant interest on the study of the molecular components of complex systems in the different environmental comaprtments (soil, water, air), in the agrofood matrices (primary and secondary products) in the biological materilas and in new inorgano-, organo-, and biocomposite materials. In particolar, CERMANU intends to favour the scientific synergism and integration among the specific competences and know-how in the above-cited domains in relation to the use of advanced modern physical-chemical technologies, and, especially, of the Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectroscopy. Moreover, CERMANU aims to develop and boost translational research also in collaboration with National research centres (CNR, ENEA, CRA, etc.) and Regional Centres of Competences (CRdC) on issues of interest to CERMANU (Agro-food production, Analysis and monitoring of Environmental Risk, industrial and technological applications of Biomolecules and Biosystems) Similarly, the CERMANU Interdpartmental Centre strictly cooperates with the inherent scientific sectors of the Departments which have deliberated to participate to CERMANU (D.R. n. 258 del 3 febbraio 2014).
